RIVERSIDE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country team finished the regular season at UC Riverside's Highlander Invitational Saturday. The Rebels compiled 675 points in the 6K contested on UCR's campus at the Ag Ops Course, along with a pair of personal best times.
The Rebels were led by junior Alana Sangprasit (141st/22:51.06), sophomore Claire Rands (164th/23:06.06) and freshman Reagan Reed (172nd/23:16.3), while senior Aine McDade (23:21.1 - personal best) and junior Angelina Vasquez (23:22.0) finished 181st and 182nd, respectively.
Freshman Taryn Bailey made her Rebel debut with a time of 23:37.2, and Autumn Viscardo (23:40.6 - personal best), Kimberly Ovadia (24:03.9) and Taylor Gauthier (26:03.9 - personal best) rounded out the Scarlet & Gray contingent.
UC San Diego claimed the team title with 37 points with four of its runners placing in the top 10, including individual champion Sylvana Northrop, who won with a time of 20:01.4. CBU (83 points ) and Utah Tech (155 points) were second and third, respectively, in the team standings.
NEXT UP: UNLV will have a couple weeks off from competition before it returns to race at the Mountain West Championships in Fresno, California on Oct. 31.
