RIVERSIDE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country team's Claire Rands and Alana Sangprasit guided the Scarlet & Gray with a pair of personal-best 5K times on Saturday at the UC Riverside Invitational. Rands paced the Rebel contingent with a time of 18:41.9 with a 40th-place showing, while Sangprasit placed 43rd with a time of 18:43.3 at the race held at the UCR AG Ops Course.
The Scarlet & Gray finished ninth overall capturing 281 points. Angelina Vasquez was 103rd overall (19:25.7), Autumn Viscardo finished 105th (19:27.3) and Reagan Reed placed 112th (19:31.7). Additionally, Aine McDade recorded a personal-best time of 19:36.9 (122nd), Kimberly Ovadia earned a time of 20:00.1 (14th) and Taylor Gauthier rounded out the group with a personal-best time of 21:41.0 (211th).
Fresno Pacific (64 points) won the race, while Cal State Monterey Bay (67 points) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (71 points) were second and third, respectively.
NEXT UP: UNLV will compete in its final regular season meet on Oct. 18 at UC Riverside's Highlander Invitational. The 6K race will take place at the UCR AG Ops Course.
