ORLANDO, Fla. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's golf junior
Caden Fioroni shot a two-under-par 70 in Monday's second round to move 25 spots up the individual leaderboard at the Isleworth Collegiate, which is being hosted by UCF at Isleworth Golf & Country Club (Par 72 - 7,544 yards).
Fioroni lowered his score from the opening round by nine shots to slide into a tie for 37th at 5-over through 36 holes. Scoring behind him for the Rebels, freshman
Inigo Izuzquiza (+6) is tied for 45th, junior
Ben Sawaia (+8) is tied for 54th, sophomore
Tommy Kimmel (+11) is tied for 62nd and senior
George Leigh (+16) is tied for 75th.
Auburn's Brendan Valdes holds the lead at 10-under and is one-stroke ahead of Purdue's Herman Wibe Sekne (-9) in second place. Hanging around those two are Florida's Quentin Debove (-7) and the Tigers' J.M. Butler (-7) in a tie for third, followed by West Virginia's Jackson Davenport (-5) and North Florida's Nick Gabrelcik (-5) in a tie for fifth.
Improving upon their lead, the Tigers (-20) shot a 5-under to remain atop the team leaderboard with the Gators creeping behind them in second at 12-under. The remaining top-5 teams are Purdue (-2) in third, LSU (+1) in fourth, and in a tie for fifth are Illinois (+3) and North Florida (+3). UNLV (+30) is in 14th place.
