Ruiz Leads All At Steve T. Reeder Invitational

LOGAN, Utah (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's cross country team finished third in the women's 5k at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational hosted by Utah State Friday afternoon.

The Rebels competed against MW foes Utah State, along with BYU, Weber State, Salt Lake Community College and Northwest Nazarene.
Sophomore Natalia Ruiz had a phenomenal race today, leading the women's 5k from start to finish, with a first place time of 18:08.4, finishing almost 17 seconds ahead of second place (18:25.4).  

This is the Madrid, Spain natives' second Steve Reeder Memorial Invitational win in a row, She won in 2021 with a time of 18:25.2.  Natalia has paced the Rebels in all 3 Cross Country competitions this season.

Junior Isabella Schrader came out with a season best of 20:01.9, followed by senior Mackenzie Moss (20:54.3), freshmen Abigail Danlag and Nicole Boskovich finished with a 21:07.8 and 22:02.0, respectively.

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will close out regular-season with a trip to the Golden State for Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational (Oct. 15). The MW Championships are slated for Oct. 28 in Laramie, Wyoming, while the NCAA Regionals are two weeks later in Seattle, Washington on Nov. 11.
