LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team will play its second straight road game on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at Fresno State at 7:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: UNLV entered Friday night's contest at Boise State having won three of its previous four. The Runnin' Rebels battled against the Broncos but came up short in a 69-63 loss. Senior guard
Bryce Hamilton recorded his sixth 30-plus point outing of the season with a game-high 32. It was also his fifth 30-point performance in his last eight games. Senior guard

LAST TIME AGAINST THE BULLDOGS: UNLV and Fresno State met earlier this season in Las Vegas with the Bulldogs coming out on top, 73-68, on Jan. 14. The Runnin' Rebels cut a 14-point second-half deficit to just three points with under a minute to play, but Fresno State hung on. Hamilton scored a game-high-tying 24 points in the contest with junior forward
Donovan Williams adding 15 and senior forward
Royce Hamm Jr. contributing 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
THIS SEASON: Hamilton leads the Runnin' Rebels (14-11, 6-6) in scoring this season at 21.7 points per game, which ranks first in the Mountain West and seventh in the nation. Williams is second on the team at 14.1 ppg and tops in field-goal percentage at 49.5 (although he has been battling injury as of late). Hamm Jr. leads the team and is second in the MW in rebounding with 9.4 per contest (20th in the country) and is also averaging 8.4 ppg and 1.0 blocks per game. McCabe leads the team in assists at 5.0 apg (third in the MW) and leads the conference and is third in the country in assist/turnover ratio (3.4).
UNLV has had an entirely new look this year with nine transfers - eight coming from the Division I level, including four from Big 12 programs. Ten of the Runnin' Rebels' 13 scholarship players had yet to play in a game in a UNLV uniform before this season began.
UNLV's 15-man roster includes 13 upperclassmen. Hamilton was selected to the 2021-22 Preseason All-Mountain West Team in October. Initially declaring for the 2021 NBA Draft, the second-team All-MW honoree last season who led the Runnin' Rebels in scoring with 17.9 points per game decided to return to the program.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT: Fresno State (16-8, 6-5) has lost each of its last two games: at home against Wyoming (61-59) on Feb. 6 and at Colorado State (65-50) on Friday. Prior to that, Fresno State won at San Jose State (73-43) on Feb. 1 and at home vs. UNR (73-56) on Feb. 4. Orlando Robinson leads the team in scoring (18.9 ppg, 5th in MW) and rebounding (8.3 rpg, 4th in MW), while Isaiah Hill is the team's assist leader (3.0 apg). The Bulldogs rank fourth in the country in scoring defense, allowing just 57.9 points per game. Fresno State is 10-2 at home with its only losses at Save Mart Center occurring to Boise State in overtime on Jan. 28 and against Wyoming by two on Feb. 6.
