LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team clinched things early in a 6-1 victory over North Dakota on a gorgeous Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels improved to 4-0 while the Fighting Hawks fell to 4-6.

UNLV raced to a 1-0 lead by only surrendering one point in doubles matches on courts two and three.

Moving to singles play, the hosts took four straight-setters to build a 5-0 lead before the final two matches at the top of the lineup went to super-tiebreakers and UND eventually earned its lone point.  

REBEL OF THE MATCH: Senior Izumi Asano entered the lineup after missing the first three matches because of injury. She and partner Cindy Hu won 6-1 on court two of doubles and then Asano sprinted past Allie Ochotorena at the third singles spot, 6-2, 6-1.

UP NEXT: UNLV is right back at it Saturday when it hosts Montana starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission is always free of charge.
