LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team closed its nonconference schedule with a 4-0 blanking of UTSA Saturday morning at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels improved to 10-2 while the Roadrunners of Conference USA fell to 1-15.
 
UTSA was not able to field a full lineup so the match started with UNLV claiming wins at No. 3 doubles and Nos. 5 and 6 singles via walkover before a ball was served. The Rebels wrapped up the doubles point with a 6-1 win at the top of the lineup and then got a straight-set win on court two to end things.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Zita Kovacs won her doubles match at No.1 with partner Molly Helgesson and then rolled past Jasmin Starr on court two in singles to clinch the team win, 6-1, 6-3.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV opens Mountain West play with four consecutive road matches, starting vs. Utah State in San Diego next Saturday.
