SAN DIEGO (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team used its impressive depth in the lineup to get past Boise State, 4-1, in a neutral-site setting Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Center.
 
The Rebels improved to 12-2 (2-0 in the Mountain West) while the Broncos fell to 3-3 (0-2).
 
UNLV took the doubles point by winning on court three and then using a tiebreaker to prevail at the second position.
 
In singles, the teams split the six opening sets but the Rebels got straight-set wins from Zita Kovacs and Cindy Hu before Isumi Asano rallied to win in three on court three to end things.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Freshman Cindy Hu teamed with Izumi Asano to eke out the clinching doubles match, 7-6 (7-5), at the No. 2 spot and then rolled past Ana Conde Vendrell on court four, 6-2, 6-2, to improve to 17-5 overall in singles play.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV returns to California to face Fresno State in a key MW battle on Saturday afternoon.
