LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Christopher Bulus has been named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the third time this season, the league announced Wednesday.
The native of Nigeria and transfer from West Alabama went a combined 4-0 last week to improve to 17-5 in singles and 14-4 in doubles.
Currently ranked 84th in the nation in singles, Bulus started out with a 6-2, 6-4 win over then-87th-ranked Ewen Lumsden of No. 40 Washington. He then posted a singles win over the top player from UC San Diego and a pair of doubles wins with partner
Zach Garner vs. Denver and UCSD.
Bulus also earned the honor on February 2 and February 23. His teammate
Milos Dabic took home the award March 16, giving UNLV two more such winners than any other team in the league this season.
UNLV opens Mountain West play by traveling to Utah State on Friday and Boise State on Sunday.
