LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team celebrated a trio of seniors before downing Wyoming 4-1 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels improved to 14-4 and 4-2 in the Mountain West while the Cowgirls fell to 8-11 and 2-4.
 
Before the first serve, UNLV, which ended the season with a home record of 11-2, honored seniors Izumi Asano, Sara Alajbegovic and Leslie Fujitani.
 
In doubles play, Wyoming won two of three matches to grab a 1-0 lead.
 
It was a different story in singles, however, as the Rebels won the first set on five of six courts and went on to get straight-set victories from Asano, Cindy Hu, Salsa Aher and CoCo Zhao to end things.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Asano, who is a four-time All-Mountain West honoree, closed her home career with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Lucia Malinak on court three.
 
QUOTABLE: "It's always great to have the seniors win their last match at Feritta. All three of our seniors honored today are great student-athletes and great Rebels. We are especially proud of the way Izumi represented the program on and off the court for the last five seasons."
 
UP NEXT: UNLV heads to Reno to face UNR on Thursday starting at 11 am.
