Box Score FRESNO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team lost in Mountain West play for the first time this season, 4-2, at the hands of No. 71 Fresno State Saturday afternoon at the Wathen Tennis Center.
 
The Rebels fell to 12-3 and 2-1 in the MW while the Bulldogs won their 12th straight at home to improve to 13-3 and 3-0.
 
The hosts grabbed the key doubles point to start things, taking matches on the top two courts.
 
In singles play, UNLV won the first set on three courts but needed to win four matches. Fresno State took wins at the top and bottom of the lineup to get to three but the Rebels got victories from Salsa Aher and then Zita Kovacs to pull within one point.
 
Both of the remaining matches went to a third set but the Bulldogs clinched when A.C. Hummel rallied to outlast Cindy Hu 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 at the fourth spot.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Aher gave her team its first point with a 6-4, 6-3 win on court five. The transfer from Kentucky improved to 14-4 overall as a Rebel.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV will remain in Fresno and look to rebound immediately with a match vs. San Jose State on Sunday morning before returning home.
