FRESNO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – One day after suffering its first league loss of the season, the UNLV women's tennis team shut out San Jose State 4-0 Sunday in a neutral-site meeting at Fresno State's Wathen Tennis Center.
 
The Rebels improved to 13-3 and 3-1 in the Mountain West while the Spartans fell to 4-10 and 0-4.
 
UNLV opened things by taking the first two completed doubles matches to forge a 1-0 lead.
 
Moving to singles, the Rebels picked up a trio of straight-set victories to end it. Zita Kovacs, Cindy Hu and CoCo Zhao all rolled to wins to halt the remaining matches.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Freshman Cindy Hu teamed with Izumi Asano for a 6-4 clinching doubles win at the second position and then downed Raquel Pereira on court four of singles, 6-3, 6-1.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV will host Colorado State on Saturday starting with doubles at 1 p.m. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
