BREMERTON, Wash. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's golf team completed its second round of the 2022 Mountain West Championship Saturday in Bremerton, finishing day two in 10th place. The three-day league championship event is being played on the Olympic Course (Par 72, 7,115 yards)
at Gold Mountain Golf Club.
Sophomore
Caden Fioroni sits in a tie for 23rd at 2-over, followed by senior
David Rauch in a tie for 29th at 4-over. Junior
George Leigh is tied for 33rd at 5-over, while freshman
Aaron Jarvis is tied for 48th at 11-over and sophomore
Ben Sawaia is tied for 50th at 15-over.
Colorado State and San Diego State turned in scores of 14-under and 15-under, respectively, on Saturday to pull away from the field, with day-one leader Colorado State clinging to a two-shot lead over the Aztecs at 22-under. UNR is in third at 9-under, followed by Boise State in fourth at 5-under and San Jose State in fifth at even. CSU's Connor Jones carded a round of 66 to take sole possession of first place at 11-under, while UNR's Trey Davis and SDSU's Youssef Guezzale are tied for second at 8-under.
