FORT COLLINS, Colo. (UNLVRebels.com) — UNLV fell to North Alabama, 9-5, Sunday in the preliminary round of the National Invitational Softball Championship. 

The Rebels (39-14) will face Rutgers in an elimination game Monday at 12:30 p.m. PT.

North Alabama scored at least one run in each of the first four innings, but UNLV stayed in the fight through the third when Mia Trejo and April Visser homered to close the deficit to 7-5.

Trejo became UNLV's career runs batted in leader with her home run. 

UNA's Emma Broadfoot blasted a two-out, two-RBI home run in the top of the fourth for the final runs of the game.

Jenny Bressler (26-7) suffered her first loss in more than a month, dating back to UNLV's extra-innings loss to San Diego State on April 10.
