WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's golf freshman Inigo Izuzquiza weathered a second round filled with heavy winds to move inside the top 25 on the individual leaderboard Tuesday at the Southwestern Invitational, which is being hosted by No. 14 Pepperdine at North Ranch Country Club (Par 72 - 7,017 yards).

Izuzquiza carded a 1-over 73 that places him in a tie for 22nd with a team-best 3-under through 36 holes. Texas' Jacob Sosa held onto his first-place spot (-9) to maintain a three-shot lead over his Longhorn teammates Christian Maas (-6) and Keaton Vo (-6) and Wake Forest's Michael Brennan (-6), who sit in a tie for second.

In a stacked field that features four teams ranked inside the top 25, No. 20 Texas remained atop the team leaderboard at 16-under as the only remaining team shooting at or below par. Oregon is in second at 1-over, while Pepperdine (+2) in third, No. 4 Arizona State (+3) in fourth and Georgia (+8) in fifth round out the top 5. The Rebels hold their position in 10th place at 23-over.

Representing the Rebels among the top-40 individual leaders alongside Izuzquiza, juniors Ben Sawaia (+6) and Caden Fioroni (+7) are tied for 31st and 37th, respectively. The remainder of the Scarlet & Gray lineup includes senior Yuki Moriyama (+10) in a tie for 50th and sophomore Aaron Jarvis (+11) in a tie for 54th.
