Young Named Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel Of The Week

The senior center ended her 100th career game with a career-high 32 points in a win at Oklahoma

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's basketball senior center Desi-Rae Young has been named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Tuesday.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.

Young, a Las Vegas native out of Desert Oasis High School, led the undefeated Lady Rebels to a 9-0 start for the first time in over two decades with a 92-76 victory over Oklahoma. In her 100th career game, she scored a career-high 32 points, shooting 60 percent from the field and 75 percent from the charity stripe, to go along with eight rebounds and two steals. 

The Lady Rebels made their season debut in the national rankings at No. 23 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
