LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team won its fourth straight match, 4-1, over visiting Idaho State on a beautiful Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Rebels improved to 4-1 overall while the Bengals fell to 1-3.
The hosts took a 1-0 lead by winning two of three doubles matches.
Aaron Bailey and
Dusan Rsovac won 6-1 at No. 3 and then
Maxim Verboven and
Milos Dabic clinched it with a 6-4 victory at the top of the lineup.
In singles play, Verboven downed Patrick Kristensen, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1;
Anton Ornberg defeated Andreas Kramer, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 3; and Rsovac ended things with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 win over Victor Sklenka at No. 5.
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Verboven was perfect on the day at the first position, winning in doubles and in straight sets in singles.
NEXT UP: UNLV will stage a doubleheader vs. UC San Diego on Super Bowl Sunday. The first match starts at 10 a.m. with the second meeting to follow at 2 p.m. Admission to all matches at the Fertitta Tennis Complex is free of charge.
