LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's golf team will return to action in Lihu'e, Kaua'i, Hawai'i, at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, which is being hosted by the University of Hawai'i from Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 16-18, at Ocean Course at Hōkūala (Par 72 - 7,156 yards).
HISTORY: The Rebels have won the tournament three times in the program's history, including their most recent back-to-back victories during the 1998-99 seasons. Additionally, UNLV came out on top at the 1991 event.
THE FIELD: The tournament field includes 21 teams. Playing alongside the Rebels and host Hawai'i are No. 9 Texas A&M, No. 19 Arizona, No. 20 San Diego State, BYU, California, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, UNR, New Mexico, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's (CA), Santa Clara, UNC Wilmington, USC, Utah, UTEP and Washington State.
UNLV LINEUP: Representing the Scarlet & Gray will be junior
Caden Fioroni, senior
George Leigh, senior
Yuki Moriyama, junior
Ben Sawaia and freshman
Brett Sawaia - who will be making his collegiate debut. Freshman
Inigo Izuzquiza will be competing as an individual.
SCHEDULE: The teams will play 18 holes each day of the event. The starting time for each round is set for 10:30 a.m. PT (shotgun start).
