LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis continued its hot start on a cold Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex, downing Kansas City 4-0.
The Rebels improved to 4-0 while the Roos fell to 3-6 after the first-ever meeting between the programs.
UNLV quickly won the doubles point with a 6-3 win at the top of the lineup and a 6-2 victory on court two.
In singles, the hosts won the first set at all six positions and got a trio of straight-setters to clinch things.
Salsa Aher downed Laura Munoz-Baroj, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 3;
Cindy Hu rolled past Kate Miley, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 4; and
Coco Zhao got by Joanna Cardona, 6-3, 7-5, on court five.
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Hu made quick work of her opponents in both doubles and singles play, improving to 3-1 in dual matches in singles and 4-0 in doubles.
UP NEXT: UNLV will host UTSA Saturday with doubles play starting at 10 a.m. Admission to all home matches is free of charge.
