LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) –
The 71st-ranked UNLV women's tennis team earned its seventh Mountain West regular-season championship with a 4-0 win over UNR on a windy Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex as part of the Silver State Series presented by America First Credit Union.

The Rebels improved to 17-3 overall while setting a program record for conference wins at 10-1 to finish in a tie atop the standings with San Diego State and Boise State. The Wolf Pack fell to 9-11 and finished 5-6 in the MW.

In doubles play, the hosts won two of three matches to take the point. Nikol Mircheva and Hudson Hawkins downed Marlene Foerster and Siliva Costache, 6-2, at the top spot before Veronika Kliuch and Eszter Kis-Czako clinched it with a 6-4 victory over Petra Janigova and Amahe Charrier on court two.

UNLV came out blazing in singles, winning the first set on all six courts. Mircheva was first off, 6-1, 6-3 over Foerster at the second position; Sofiia Sokolvak also swept her opponent, Janigova, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 6; and Kaho Oyama ended things with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Wiem Boubaker on court five.

REBEL OF THE MATCH: Junior Nikol Mircheva continued her rock-solid play, winning in doubles again before breezing in singles to improve to 19-6 overall and 14-2 in dual matches, including 7-0 vs. MW opponents.

UP NEXT: Armed with its first regular-season crown since 2019, UNLV awaits its opponent in the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women's Tennis Championship, which begins Wednesday at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas. The Rebels will open play in the tournament on Thursday after earning a first-round bye.
