LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's golf team finished with an even-par effort Monday in the second round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate, which is being hosted by the Rebels at Southern Highlands Golf Club (Par 72, 7,510 yards).
Following Sunday's first-round 1-under, the Rebels are in seventh place with a spring-season low through 36 holes of 1-under 575. Spearheading the Scarlet & Gray scorecard in the individual column, junior Caden Fioroi (-5) followed up his first-round 5-under 67 with an even-par of his own to bring himself into a tie for eighth heading into the final 18.
Holding a four-shot lead on the closest competitor, the No. 4 North Carolina Tar Heels fired off a 20-under 556 on the event's first two days to put themselves in front of No. 16 Texas (-16) in second place. Atop the individual leaderboard, No. 11 Florida's Yuxin Lin (-10) and UNC's Austin Greaser (-10) are tied for first ahead of the Longhorns' Christiaan Maas (-9) and No. 14 Pepperdine's Sam Choi (-9) tied for third. Last year's champion Patrick Welch from Oklahoma is within two shots of the lead at 8-under.

Brayden Bozak (+5) also moved up into a tie for 63rd with a 1-under 71 in just the second round of his collegiate tournament debut.
