LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV cross country team will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 29 as it competes at the Dave Murray Invitational, hosted by Arizona in Tucson.
The Rebels' third competition of the 2023 season will be held at Randolph Golf Course with the women's 6k starting at 7:45 a.m.
UNLV is coming off a strong showing in its last outing, which was two weeks ago in Riverside, California. The team placed fourth in the UC Riverside Invitational's 5k with junior Natalia Ruiz earning medalist honors and breaking the almost 35-year-old school record with a time of 17:02.2. Six Rebel student-athletes set lifetime bests and a total of seven collegiate personal records at the event, which featured 21 teams and 240 individuals competing.
The Rebels, who are in their first season under new head coach Carmelita Jeter and assistant coach Adam Meyer, opened the season on Sept. 1 at the Mark Covert Classic in Brea, California, where multiple student-athletes set personal records.
Friday will be a homecoming of sorts for Coach Meyer as he grew up in Phoenix and ran for Arizona State. Competing in the event will be Arizona, Arizona State, Grand Canyon, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona and UTEP among others.
UNLV student-athletes set to run are senior Morgan Aittama, sophomore Nicole Boskovich, sophomore Abigail Danlag, sophomore Taylor Gauthier, senior Jaida Lyles, sophomore Aine McDade, freshman Eliana Rivera, Ruiz, freshman Alana Sangprasit and senior Isabella Schrader.

Following this race, UNLV will compete in Santa Clara, California, on Oct. 14 before the Mountain West Championships, which will take place at the end of October.
