BILOXI, Miss. (UNLVRebels.com) – Sophomore
Zach Little finished Saturday's first round of the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational in the top 15 at Fallen Oak Golf Course (par 72, 7,487 yards).
Pacing all Rebels, Little ended the day as one of just 22 individuals to shoot par or better after his first-round even-par 72. The Croxley Green, England native dropped in four of the Scarlet & Gray's 10 birdies on the day.
Jumping behind Little inside the top 30, senior
Caden Fioroni – who joined the team immediately after making his PGA Tour event debut at the Shriners Children's Open – sits tied for 29th at 2-over 74. The rest of UNLV's lineup includes junior
Wyatt Plattner (+5) tied alongside seniors
Ben Sawaia (+5) and
Trevor Lewis (+5) in 55th. Sophomore
Dillon Dean (+3) is tied for 39th competing as an individual.
Leading the team standings, Georgia grabbed the day-one lead as the only squad to shoot below par at 1-under. Co-hosts Ole Miss and Mississippi State are tied for second alongside LSU at 1-over. As a team, the Rebels (+12) are in a three-way tie for 10th.
South Carolina's Frankie Harris holds the individual lead through 18 holes after his 3-under 69. He one shot ahead of his Gamecocks teammate Ismael Encinas (-2) and LSU's Noah McWilliams (-2).
