Zach Little and
Mason Snyder recorded under-par scores for the second straight day to guide the UNLV men's golf team in Tuesday's second round at the Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club (par 70, 6,5111 yards).
SECOND-ROUND SUCCESS: The duo went bogey-free on the back nine as Little posted a 3-under 67 and Snyder tallied a 1-under 69 on the day. Little posted four birdies and an eagle on 13 en route to 14 consecutive bogey-free holes to end the day. Snyder, meanwhile, dropped in four birdies across 13 straight bogey-free holes to close his round.
Another second-round highlight came from senior
Brett Sawaia, who contributed two eagles on the ninth and 13th holes. Sawaia and Little gave the Rebels three eagles in the round.
REBEL ROUNDUP: Little (-5) and Snyder (-3) both find themselves in the top 10, with the former sitting in fifth and latter in a tie for eighth. The Scarlet & Gray lineup also includes senior
Trevor Lewis (+1) and freshman Aaron van Hauwe (+1) in a tie for 30th, senior
Wyatt Plattner (+4) in a tie for 49th as well as Sawaia (+6) in a tie for 57th.
DAY-TWO LEADERBOARD: USC (-16) used a 16-under round to drop to the same to-par score for the tournament and take a four-shot lead over previous frontrunner Cal (-12). As a team, the Rebels are tied for third alongside BYU and Chattanooga at 4-under through 36 holes.
In the individual standings, the Trojans' Jack Buchanan's 8-under round put him in the lead at 11-under.
UP NEXT: UNLV will tee off in Wednesday's final round at 11:40 a.m. PT. The Golf Channel's broadcast will air at 4 p.m. PT for three hours.
