TUCSON, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) – After shooting a 9-under 279, the UNLV men's golf team positioned itself in fifth place after Sunday's first round at the Mountain West Championship on the Catalina Course at OMNI Tucson National Resort (Par 72, 7,194 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: All four Rebel scorers shot par or better, with senior
Trevor Lewis leading the way in a tie for second at 5-under 67. Following Lewis in that group are junior
Zach Little in a tie for 11th at 3-under 69, senior
Wyatt Plattner in a tie for 21st at 1-under 71 and senior
Brett Sawaia in a tie for 34th at even par (72).
Also representing the Scarlet & Gray lineup, junior
Mason Snyder (+2) ended the day in a tie for 46th.
DAY-ONE LEADERS: San Diego State holds the team lead at 15-under 273, while Aztec Tyler Kowack leads all individuals at 7-under 65.
UP NEXT: UNLV will tee off in Monday's second round at 7 a.m. PT.
