No. 24 Lady Rebels Host San Diego State For Senior Day

UNLV and San Diego State will tip off on Saturday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. PT at Cox Pavilion

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 24 UNLV women's basketball team will host San Diego State in its final home regular season game on Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m. Following the conclusion of the contest, the Lady Rebels will celebrate and recognize graduate student Ashley Scoggin and senior Desi-Rae Young.
 
ABOUT THE OPPONENT: The Lady Rebels are 40-28 all-time vs. the Aztecs. UNLV has won the last eight meetings and 13 of the last 14. The Lady Rebels collected a 67-60 victory in the first meeting between the two squads in San Diego on Jan. 17, 2024 in an early morning game. San Diego State is coming off a 66-63 loss at New Mexico on Wednesday night that came down to the wire. Between the Aztecs and Lobos exchanged the lead 20 times and were tied a total of 14 times throughout. The Aztecs are led by Adryana Quezada who averages 14.1 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game.

TICKETS: Tickets for Senior Day against San Diego State at 2 p.m. will be $3 in celebration of the Lady Rebels' three-peat MW Regular Season Championship. $3 tickets can be purchased at UNLVTickets.com until Friday, March 1 at 11:59 p.m. General admission tickets at the door are $10 ($8 for seniors, UNLV faculty/staff and alumni). UNLV students and Nevada high school students (presenting student ID) as well as all children 12 and under enter free.
 
BROADCAST INFO: The game will air live locally on the Silver State Sports and Entertainment Network (KVVU 5.2, Cox 125) and stream online on the Mountain West Network (theMW.com/watch). Play-by-play announcer Wyatt Tomchek and color analyst Kevaney Martin have the call.
 
SQUAD LEADERS: Desi-Rae Young leads the Lady Rebels in scoring, averaging 18.8 points per game and is the leading rebounder (9.3 rebounds per game). Kiara Jackson leads UNLV in assists per game (4.7) and is the second-leading scorer averaging 11.1 points per game. Nneka Obiazor is the third leading scorer on the squad, averaging 8.4 points and Alyssa Brown is the second leading rebounder, bringing down 8.3 boards per game, respectively.
 
LAST TIME ON THE COURT: The No. 24 UNLV women's basketball completed a comeback for the second straight game and defeated Boise State 63-57 on Wednesday evening at Cox Pavilion. The Lady Rebels were led by Desi-Rae Young with 13 points. Young also had two steals and two blocked shots on the night. Nneka Obiazor was second on the squad with a solid nine points off the bench by shooting 4-for-6 from the field and 1-for-2 at the free throw line. Alyssa Brown led the squad with seven rebounds and Ashley Scoggin had a season-high three steals.
 
SQUAD UP: The Lady Rebels return nine of the 12 players from its 2023 championship squad, including three starters and Mountain West Sixth Player of the Year Kiara Jackson. UNLV added four freshmen, forward McKinna Brackens, point guard Amarachi Kimpson, guard Macy Spencer and forward Meadow Roland, and junior transfer Macie James, a forward from Oklahoma State.
