BOULDER CITY (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's golf team's three individuals finished the opening two rounds of South Dakota State's Jackrabbit Invitational Friday at Boulder Creek Golf Club (Par 72, 7,402 yards).
The top Rebel competitor, sophomore
Inigo Izuzquiza concluded the day in a tie for 38th with a 9-over 153 through 36 holes. Also playing in the two-day event, freshmen
Phillip Kench (+14) and
Hogan Park (+15) are within a shot of each other in ties for 64th and 69th, respectively.
Taking the day-one lead, the host Jackrabbits' 7-over provided them with a two-shot lead over UC Santa Barbara (+9) in second place going into the final round. In the individual standings, UCSB's Blake McGovern, SDSU's Bryson Mercier and North Dakota's Brandon McGarry are tied for first at 3-under 141.
