STANFORD, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – Seniors Yuki Moriyama and Caden Fioroni moved into the top 20 after Tuesday's second round of the NCAA Stanford Regional at Stanford Golf Course (Par 70, 6,727 yards).

Moriyama, who jumped into a tie for 14th, shot a 6-under 64 to lower his score to 4-under for the tournament pull within two shots of the low individual in line to advance not attached to a team`inside the top five. Fioroni dropped his second straight round below par with a 2-under 68 to climb into a tie for 20th at 3-under.

Behind their leaders' team-best scores on the day, the Rebels pieced together a 3-under as they finished the day in a tie for eighth. The Scarlet & Gray lineup also includes junior Trevor Lewis (E) in a tie for 33rd, sophomore Brett Sawaia (+7) in a tie for 59th and freshman Phillip Kench (+8) in a tie for 65th.

On the individual leaderboard, the Seminoles' Luke Clanton, the Illini's Max Herendeen and Texas A&M's Phichaksn Maichon stand in a tie for first. The frontrunners for the automatic individual qualifying spot outside of the top-five contending squads are UCLA's Pablo Ereno and Minnesota's Ben Warian each at 6-under through 36 holes.

Illinois maintained its position atop the team leaderboard by a narrow margin at 27-under for a one-shot lead over Florida State (-26). Joining them among the five top teams in contention to advance past the regional are Texas A&M in third at 21-under, Ole Miss (-13) in fourth and SMU (-10) in fifth.
