LAS VEGAS (UNLVrebels.com) – The UNLV women's cross country team will continue the 2024 cross country season this weekend, traveling to Riverside, Calif., to compete in the UC Riverside Invitational. The meet is set to be held on UCR's Agg Course, taking place on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The Rebels are set to compete in the invitationals third race of the day, taking part in the women's open 5K race at 8:25 a.m. PT. That race will take place after the conclusion of the men's 8K invite race. Livestats for this weekend's event can be found

The Scarlet & Gray will be taking nine student-athletes on the trip, consisting of four newcomers and five veterans on the roster.
Sophia Legat led the Rebels in the George Kyte Classic last month in the 2.5-mile race, clocking in a 17:02.87 in her first collegiate race. The roster also put together other strong performances in their last outing,
Nicole Boskovich,
Breanna Blanks,
Claire Rands and
Leah Okuda all returning for the UCR Invitational.
The Rebels, who are in their second season under head coach
Carmelita Jeter and Assistant Coach
Adam Meyer, will look to build on the success from last season after
Natalia Ruiz became the first All-Mountain West runner since 2008.
The Scarlet & Gray introduced five new Rebels to their roster in 2024, three of them being locals to Las Vegas in
Breanna Blanks,
Sophia Legat and
Leah Okuda. The team picked up one more student-athlete from the neighboring state to the west in
Eva Walker while also continuing their international presence by adding
Claire Rands from Ontario, Canada.
Saturday's race will be the second of three regular-season meets before the Mountain West Championships on Friday, Nov. 1 in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Rebels have been competing once per month during the regular season. The full season schedule can be found

UNLV was selected tenth in the Mountain West Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll on Wednesday, finishing ahead of San Jose State.
