ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's golf team combined to shoot a final-round even-par 288 Saturday en route to a tied-for-fourth finish at UNM's William H. Tucker Invitational at UNM Championship Course (par 72, 7,546 yards).

One of only two teams to shoot par or better on the day, the Rebels (+2) moved up six spots from their tie for 10th after the second round with their second straight par-or-better round. Leading the Scarlet & Gray lineup, senior Caden Fioroni used a 1-under 71 day to finish tied for sixth at 3-under and junior Wyatt Plattner (E) posted a third-round 2-under 70 to tie for 12th at even-par 216.

Finishing behind the leading duo for the Scarlet & Gray, junior Brett Sawaia (+2) tied for 19th, senior Ben Sawaia (+5) tied for 35th and senior Trevor Lewis (+8) tied for 54th. As an individual, Rebel sophomore Dillon Dean (+9) tied for 61st.

Earning the team victory, Colorado edged day-one leader and host New Mexico by one shot with a winning score of 12-under 852. The Lobos' Alvaro Portillo (-8) secured medalist honors after winning a playoff with UNM teammate Carson Herron (-8).

UP NEXT: The Rebels will compete in their first of two tournaments in the Lone Star State this season at the Trinity Forest Invitational being hosted by SMU from October 6-8.
