Rebels Return Home For A Rematch With Boise State, Utah State

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The Rebels will return home to The Pavilion for a pair of conference matches against Boise State on Thursday, October 30 at 6:30 p.m. before hosting Utah State on Saturday, November 1 at 12 p.m.

PROMOTIONAL ITEMS
The Rebels take on Boise State for Halloween night. In the spirit of Halloween, fans will receive free candy and are encouraged to have their child dressed up in a costume with no face masks and any handheld accessories strictly prohibited. Additionally, the Scarlet & Gray's match against Utah State will be the Dia de los Muertos. Be one of the first fans through the door on Saturday to receive a free Viva Los Rebels rally towel, while supplies last.

WHAT'S ON THE DOCKET
UNLV will hit the road for one final time next week against New Mexico and Grand Canyon on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m. PT, and Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. PT.

LAST TIME OUT
UNLV went 0-2 on the road last week, falling to Boise State in five sets before suffering a four-set loss to Utah State in Logan, Utah. Against the Broncos, UNLV had five players register double-digit digs, four with double-digit kills and three with double-digit assists. The offense was paced by Jaida Harris' 23 kills and 16 digs, her third double-double of the season, while Alondra Alarcon collected her fifth double-double of the campaign, totaling 18 kills and 12 digs. The setter duo of Kaia Thiele and Agata Makowska garnered double-doubles of their own with the former earning career-highs of 34 assists and 17 assists, while the latter added 25 assists and 16 digs along with a service ace and a kill. The Rebels collected a season-best 79 assists, 86 digs and 210 total attacks. Against the Aggies, UNLV was paced by double-digit kills from Harris and Alarcon, with the former combining a team-high 18 kills along with seven digs and five blocks (four block assists, one solo block) along with three service aces, while the latter totaled 16 kills, hit .389 with eight digs, earned two block assists and added two service aces. The Rebels collected a season-best seven service aces assists. Libero Caleigh King posted eight  digs to reach 879 career digs and is now in sole possession of ninth on the all-time career digs list in program history.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
>Boise State
: The Broncos are 6-4 in MW action as they defeated UNLV at home in five sets last week before falling to San Diego State in four sets. Against the Scarlet & Gray, Ari Bilby recorded a season-high 21 kills, while Lilli Etter registered career highs in assists (38) and digs (22) and became the first Boise State player to have 30-plus assists and 20-digs in at least 10 years. Sydney Dreves added a double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs while Layla Smith contributed 16 kills and seven blocks and Eliza Sharp chipped in 14 kills. Against the Aztecs, Dreves led Boise State with 12 kills, her fourth double-digit kill performance in her last five matches, while Eliza Share recorded nine kills and three blocks. Additionally, Kendall Hastings had six kills and five blocks. Bilby leads the team with 220 kills, while Miller tops the charts at 6.02 assists per set (500 total). On defense, Bre Mitchell (318 digs, 3.83/set) and Layla Smith (105 blocks, 1.33/set) lead the Broncos in their respective categories.
>Utah State: First-place Utah State is 10-0 in MW competition as they are coming into the sixth week of MW play with wins against San Diego State and UNLV. Against the Aztecs, US hit just .197 overall, but limited SDSU to a .124 clip. Loryn Helgesen led the Aggies with a career-high-tying 23 kills, to go along with a career high eight digs and a career-high-tying six block assists. Furthermore, Ava Martin had a career-high 10 blocks, including a career-best nine block assists. Against the Rebels, the Aggies improved to 10-0 in conference play for only the second time in program history with the four set victory. Helgesen led the Aggies in kills for the third-straight match, finishing with 18 kills and adding five digs and two blocks. Kaylie Kofe led USU with 50 assists, her fifth match this season with 50 or more assists, and set a career-high with 23 digs to record her ninth double-double this season. Stiglic leads the team with 259 kills (3.93 kills/set), while Kofe tops the charts at 10.65 assists per set (799 total). On defense, Thompson (257 digs, 3.38/set), while Larkin (0.95 blocks per set) lead the Aggies in their respective categories.

2025 SCHEDULE
The UNLV volleyball program will play a total of 28 regular-season matches during the 2025 campaign, with 14 of those taking place inside the friendly confines of the Cox Pavilion. The fall slate, the third under head coach Malia Shoji, will feature 18 contests against Mountain West foes as well as 10 more versus nonconference competition.
