Rebels Head Into Final Week Of Regular Season

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The Rebels close out the regular season with a pair of home matches against Fresno State (Nov. 20, 6:30 p.m.) and San Jose State (Nov. 22, 2 p.m.) this week.

Thursday, November 20 - UNLV vs. Fresno State (6:30 p.m. PT) - MW Network/MW App

Rebel fans, the UNLV Volleyball team will close out conference play at home this week. Come out to The Pavilion this Thursday, November 20, at 6:30 p.m. as the Rebels take on the Fresno State Bulldogs for their annual Polynesian Night. Then, the Scarlet & Gray return on Saturday, November 22, at 1 p.m. as Rebels take on the San Jose State Spartans for Senior Day.

LAST TIME OUT
UNLV went 0-2 at home when they fell in four sets to both Wyoming and Colorado State. Against the Cowgirls, junior libero Caleigh King recorded a career-high 29 digs, while freshman setter Kaia Thiele collected her fifth 25+ assist match of the season with a match-high 28 assists along with seven digs. Sophomore middle blocker Rheanna Deen-Jackson posted five block assists and nine kills. Offensively, Alondra Alarcon notched 15 kills, seven digs, three service aces and hit .314 overall. Brooklynn Williams posted double-digit kills of her own with 10 kills and hit .563 on just one error. Against the Rams, Jaida Harris led the team with 14 kills, 11 digs and one service ace, while Rheanna Deen-Jackson produced eight kills, two block assists and hit .429 overall. Kaia Thiele collected 22 assists to go along with six digs, while Agata Makowska chipped in 19 assists and nine digs.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
>Fresno State
: The Bulldogs are 2-13 in MW play as they fell twice last week to Utah State and Boise State at home, both in 3-0 fashions. Against the Aggies, Fresno State finished with 45 kills, matching Utah State's total, and hit .263, their strongest percentage in conference play over the last month. Addison Haluska tallied 21 kills and 10 digs with a .333 hitting percentage. Mya Sellers tied her season-high with five total blocks. Against the Broncos, Haluska produced 22 kills on a .432 clip, adding two blocks and leading all players with 23 points. Gabby Lombardi dished out 31 assists adding six digs, a kill and a service ace. Peyton Bitter and Olivia Lombardi each reached double-digit digs, finishing with 10 apiece. Haluska leads the team with 409 kills and 4.49 kills per set, while Lombardi tops the charts at 8.55 assists per set (778 total) and 224 total digs. Gabby Lombardi leads the charge with 3.51 digs per set, while Brooklyn Washington tops the charts with 83 blocks.
>San Jose State: SJSU went 1-1 last week with a four sets home win against Boise State and a four set home loss against Utah State. Against the Broncos, Tatiana Robinson notched 12 kills and hit .522 overall, and the Spartans outblocked the Broncos 10-4, getting seven blocks from Learden Lee, three blocks from both Robinson and Lolo Fonua. Talita Gonçalves led the defense with 23 digs, her fifth match this season with 20+ digs. Katie O'Sullivan recorded a career-best four service aces to go with nine digs. Setter Fatimah Hall had 43 assists and nine digs, one shy of her 12th double-double of the season. Against the Aggies, Fonua hit .432 in the match with a team-best 17 kills on 37 attempts and only one hitting error. Mariana Buchanan hit .320 with 11 kills on 25 attempts with just three errors in three sets played. Ava Hewitt-Smith led the team with seven blocks, one solo and six assists. Offensively, she hit .438 for the match with nine kills on 16 kills and only two errors. Fonua leads the team with 259 kills (2.64 kills/set), while Fatimah Hall tops the charts at 7.97 assists per set (869 total). Talita Goncalves (330 digs, 3.33/set) and Hewitt-Smith (123 blocks, 1.16 blocks per set) lead the Spartans in their respective categories.

2025 SCHEDULE
The UNLV volleyball program will play a total of 28 regular-season matches during the 2025 campaign, with 14 of those taking place inside the friendly confines of the Cox Pavilion. The fall slate, the third under head coach Malia Shoji, will feature 18 contests against Mountain West foes as well as 10 more versus nonconference competition.

Season tickets are only $50 for adults, seniors (62+), faculty and staff are $40 for seniors (62+). Kids 12 and under & Nevada School Aged Students with their valid School I.D. are free and must claim a free ticket upon entry. All seating is general admission. All tickets will be delivered as mobile.
