Meadow Roland has been named Mountain West Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced today.
The Fresno, California native led the Scarlet & Gray with an average of 21.0 points per game. She helped the Lady Rebels to two victories against Creighton and UNI in the UNLV Thanksgiving Turkey Tip-Off. The 6-foot-2 redshirt sophomore forward shot 64.0% (16-for-25) from the field through two games, 44.4% (4-for-9) from long range and 66.7% (6-for-9) from the free throw line. Against Creighton, Roland put up a career-high 25 points by shooting 9-for-13 (.692) from the field, 2-for-4 (.500) from the three and 5-for-8 (.625) from the charity stripe. She also brought down 12 rebounds to collect her fourth double-double of the season. Her hot shooting continued, as she collected 17 points against UNI on the final day of the UNLV Thanksgiving Turkey Tip-Off. Roland shot 7-for-12 (.583), 2-for-5 (.400) from long range and was a perfect 1-for-1 from the free throw line.
This marks the second player of the week nod for Roland this season.
The Lady Rebels are headed on the road for a four-day road trip to Texas. UNLV will play two games in the Lone Star state with the first being against UTSA on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 4:30 p.m. PT/6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
