LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Kacey Bingham has been named the new head coach of the women's soccer program at UNLV, Director of Athletics
Erick Harper announced Wednesday.
Bingham comes to Las Vegas after spending the last seven seasons as the head coach at Western Oregon. Prior to that, she served as assistant coach at St. Mary's for one season (2018), head coach at Utah Tech for five seasons (2013-17), and head coach for six years (2006-12) at Paradise Valley Community College.
"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Bingham to the Rebel family as our new women's soccer head coach," Harper said. "Throughout the hiring process, her commitment to the development of student-athletes was truly impressive. Kacey has a proven record of building programs that not only compete for championships but also achieve excellence in the classroom. Her philosophy aligns perfectly with our core values, fostering an environment where our student-athletes can thrive academically, personally, and athletically."
At WOU, Bingham became the program's all-time win percentage leader (48-45-5), while leading the Wolves to their first trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2025. She elevated WOU to a five-win improvement in her first season (10-6-3), an 11-5-5 record her final year, the school's first national rankings - reaching as high as No. 8 in 2022 - and four GNAC Tournaments.
In her time at Utah Tech, Bingham earned the highest win percentage in program history (51-33-3, .603) among coaches with multiple years at the school, and guided her squads to winning records and 10-plus wins in each of her final four seasons. During her half-decade in St. George, the Trailblazers garnered NCAA West Region rankings, including a high of No. 8, and set single-season school records in goals scored (19), game-winning goals (8), and hat tricks (3).
"I am incredibly grateful, deeply honored, and absolutely fired up for the opportunity to return to the Southwest as the new women's soccer head coach at UNLV," said Bingham. "This is a very special university, and I feel an enormous sense of pride stepping into this role. Las Vegas is a truly unique city that is vibrant, diverse, and full of energy. The community it provides for every student and athlete is like no other experience in the country. Being able to represent a place with such spirit and resilience is an incredible privilege.
"I would also like to extend my sincerest appreciation to
Erick Harper, the hiring committee, and all of the administrators who have placed their trust and confidence in me. Their support and vision for the future of this program were inspiring throughout this process, and I am committed to honoring that trust every single day."
Prior to those stops, Bingham amassed a 121-13-8 record as head coach at PVCC. She led the Pumas to NJCAA national titles in 2010 and 2012, going undefeated with a 46-0-2 record during those championship runs.
Under her guidance, Bingham's players have garnered many athletic accolades. She produced the first two All-Americans in UTU history, as well as a combined 51 all-conference selections, 10 all-region honors, two Pac-West Player of the Year honorees, two conference Defender of the Year winners, and a West Region Player of the Year.
Bingham's student-athletes have also been standouts in the classroom. She has coached 203 academic all-conference honorees (89 All-GNAC Academic and 114 Academic All-Pac West) and a three-time Academic All-American.
Throughout her 20 years of coaching, Bingham's personal achievements include being named the 2019 GNAC Coach of the Year, 2012 NSCAA Coach of the Year, 2012 NSCAA Region Coach of the Year, 2012 NJCAA Coach of the Year, and 2012 ACCAC Coach of the Year.
A former student-athlete herself, Bingham played collegiate soccer at Arizona State, where she earned her bachelor's degree in recreation management in 2006. She holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) B License.
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Bingham and her husband, Kyle, have four sons, Braxton, Jace, Theo, and Hawkens.
