LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team closed out the non-conference portion of its 2025-26 schedule Monday night at the Thomas & Mack Center with an 89-47 win over La Sierra.

The Golden Eagles (7-7) were led by Mateo Hamilton's 12 points and seven rebounds.

FAST START: The Runnin' Rebels started the game with a 21-0 run. They eventually built their lead to as many as 32 in the first half and led 49-19 at the break.

STAT OF THE GAME: UNLV forced 24 La Sierra turnovers and converted those into 34 points.

QUOTABLE: "We were supposed to take care of business, and we did. We did a nice job on the glass, and we forced them into 24 turnovers. I thought defensively, with our ball pressure, we made it tough on the 7-foot-3 kid. Bottom line, we found a way to win, and it gave us a great opportunity to play everybody. That's a really good thing for us because everyone has to stay ready. You just never know. It was a good win for us to close out 2025, but the rest of the way will be conference play starting on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Air Force." - UNLV head coach Josh Pastner
