LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team shut out Oral Roberts 7-0 on Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
In what was the first-ever meeting between the programs, the Rebels improved to 2-0 while the Golden Eagles fell to 0-5 on the young season.
Doubles play ended quickly as
Cindy Hu and
Coco Zhao downed Chara Grammatikaki and Ava Goodell, 6-2, at the second spot after
Kaho Oyama and
Sofiia Sokolvak blanked Abby Wise and Cecilia Franzin, 6-0, on court three.
In singles, four Rebels swept their opponents:
Veronica Kliuch downed Grammatikaki, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 2; Zhao flew by Franzin, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3;
Nikol Mircheva dispatched Goodell, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 4; and
Kaho Oyama rolled past Annelise Deer, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5. UNLV also picked up both three-set finals as Sokolvak rallied past Cassie Cervantes, 1-6, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 6 and Hu fought off Arina Sorkina, 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5), at the top of the lineup.

Kaho Oyama barely lost even a game, winning 6-0 in doubles and 6-0, 6-1 in singles.
UP NEXT: UNLV will close out its opening weekend of play Sunday by hosting Youngstown State starting at 10 a.m. All matches at Fertitta Tennis Complex are free of charge.
