LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team opened Mountain West play with a quick 4-0 victory over Air Force on a gorgeous March Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels took their third straight to improve to 10-3 overall while the Falcons fell to 6-9 and 0-2 in the league.
 
Doubles saw the hosts take all three matches. Nikol Mircheva and Hanna Vinahradeva won 6-3 at the top spot while Cindy Hu and Coco Zhao won 7-5 at No. 2 and Sofiia Sokolvak and Kaho Oyama won 6-4 on court three.  
 
In singles, UNLV dropped only one set while earning a trio of straight-setters to clinch things in less than two hours. Veronica Kliuch downed Alexis Odom, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 2; Zhao swept Arianna Van Houwelin by the same score at No. 3; and Mircheva ended it with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Maya Michalski at No. 5.  
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Coco Zhao teamed up for a doubles win then only lost two games in her singles victory.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV continues Mountain West play on Friday by welcoming Boise State starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. All matches at Fertitta Tennis Complex are free of charge.
