Caden Fioroni shot a 4-under 66 for the second consecutive day to move into second place after Tuesday's second round of the Western Intercollegiate being hosted by San Jose State at Pasatiempo Golf Club (par 70, 6,521 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: Fioroni's afternoon score brought him to 8-under through 36 holes and within one shot of day-two leader Filip Jakubcik (-9) from Arizona. Following him in the Rebel lineup are junior
Brett Sawaia (E) in a tie for 17th, senior
Ben Sawaia (+5) in a tie for 48th, sophomore
Zach Little (+6) in a tie for 53rd, junior
Wyatt Plattner (+8) in a tie for 63rd and senior
Trevor Lewis (+10) in a tie for 76th.
TEAM LEADERBOARD: Pepperdine took over the team lead at 6-under for the tournament after an 8-under second round put it two shots ahead of San Diego State (-4) in second. As a team, the Rebels (+6) will look to make their move up the standings from seventh in the final round.
