CRESWELL, Ore. (UNLVRebels.com) – Behind par-or-better scorecards from its entire lineup, the UNLV men's golf team shot an 8-under 280 to stand in fourth place after Friday's first round of the Mountain West Championship at Emerald Valley Golf Club (Par 72, 7,210 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: Senior
Caden Fioroni and sophomore
Zach Little both carded a 3-under 69 to lead the Rebels in a tie for ninth through 18 holes. Adding to their efforts, junior
Brett Sawaia's 2-under 70 lands him in a tie for 16th, while senior
Trevor Lewis and junior
Wyatt Plattner are tied for 28th at even-par 72.
DAY-ONE LEADERS: San Diego State surged to the day-one lead at 19-under 269 and saw its own Tyler Kowack take the individual lead at 6-under 66.
