FRESNO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to get back into the win column, 4-2, over Fresno State on Sunday at the Wathen Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels improved to 14-5 and 5-2 in the Mountain West while the Bulldogs fell to 12-8 and 4-4.
 
Fresno State took a 1-0 lead by winning both completed doubles matches and then earned the first singles point with a quick match at the top of the lineup. That's when momentum swung to the visitors. Hanna Vinahradava downed Gianna Mastro, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 6 to get her team on the board then Coco Zhao finished off Charlotte Gisclon, 7-5, 7-5, at No. 3 to tie things.
 
Freshman Veronika Kliuch then fought off Sofia Pizzoni, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 at No. 2 to give the Rebels their first lead. UNLV needed just one of the remaining matches for the victory and while Kaho Oyama split sets at No. 5, Nikol Mircheva came back after dropping the first set to end things with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over Paulina Montiel on court four.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV will return for a pair of home matches, starting with first-place San Jose State on Friday at 10 a.m. Admission to all matches at the Fertitta Tennis Complex is free of charge.
