Caden Fioroni took the individual lead and the UNLV men's golf team moved into a tie for second place in Tuesday's second round at the NCAA Urbana Regional at Atkins Golf Club (Par 71, 7,533 yards).
SECOND-ROUND SCORECARD: Leading the Rebels' day-two 4-under 280, senior
Caden Fioroni carded a 4-under 67 that included a bogey-free front nine and five total birdies on the day. Giving the Scarlet & Gray another pair of par-or-better scores, junior
Wyatt Plattner chipped in a 1-under 70 for the second straight round and senior
Trevor Lewis contributed an even-par 72.
REBEL ROUNDUP: Fioroni ended the day at 7-under 135 through 36 holes. Plattner (-2) and sophomore
Zach Little (-1) join Fioroni in the top 15 as the former is tied for 11th and the latter holds sole possession of 14th. Rounding out the lineup are Lewis (+3) in a tie for 35th and junior
Brett Sawaia (+13) in 71st.
DAY-TWO LEADERBOARD: After the round, the Scarlet & Gray sits at 7-under 561 alongside Oklahoma State just three shots off the lead held by host Illinois at 10-under 558. Fioroni, meanwhile, goes into the final round clinging to a one-shot lead with the Illini's Jackson Buchanan (-6) in second.
