LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV volleyball will wrap up its non-conference road schedule with a trip to the Beaver State for the ASICS Invitational this week. The Rebels will travel for the three-day tournament that also includes the UC Irvine Anteaters, the Montana State Bobcats and the Oregon State Beavers.
The Scarlet & Gray will play a trio of matches, all at 3 p.m. PT against UC Irvine (Sept. 11), Montana State (Sept. 12) and Oregon State (Sept. 13). This will be the first time since 2019 the Rebels and Anteaters will square off, while UNLV and Oregon State will meet for the first time since 2010 and the fifth time overall. Additionally, UNLV is 2-0 all-time against Montana State, with both wins coming in 1984.

WHAT'S ON THE DOCKET
The UNLV volleyball team will wrap up the non-conference portion of their schedule by hosting the Dig In The Desert where they will face UC Riverside (Sept. 18) and Southern Utah (Sept. 20). The match against the Highlanders will be streamed on the Mountain West Network and the Mountain West App, while the match against the Thunderbirds will be streamed on the UNLV Athletic YouTube page.
LAST TIME OUT
UNLV volleyball went 2-0 at the Santa Clara Mission Classic, defeating California Baptist (3-0) and Santa Clara (3-2). Jadia Harris and Alondra Alarcon were named to the Santa Clara Mission Classic All-Tournament team as the former totaled 30 kills (3.75 k/set) with a .328 clip, seven service aces and 14 digs. Harris tallied a season-high 18 kills against CBU and tacked on four service aces against the Broncos. Alarcon posted 24 kills of her own (3.00 k/set) with a .385 hitting percentage. She also tallied 13 digs and recorded a career-high 18 kills against Santa Clara.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
>UC Irvine: The Anteaters went 1-2 in the Anteater Classic where they defeated Fresno State in straight sets and fell to Colorado (3-2) and Penn (3-0). Against the Bulldogs, opposite Lois Hansen and outside hitter Kendra Duffey led the Anteaters with 12 kills each. Hansen hit .611 (12-1-18) with three block assists, while Duffey had two solo blocks in the win. Duffey leads the team with 61 kills (2.90 per set) and a .246 hitting percentage, along with 11 total blocks for 68.5 points. Kendra MacDonald follows closely with 50 kills (2.17 per set) and a team-high nine service aces, contributing on both offense and defense with 39 digs. Ally Bolden has been a force at the net, posting 34 kills and a team-best 26 total blocks (1.13 per set).
>Montana State: The Bobcats went an impressive 3-0 in the Gonzaga Tournament, defeating the Bulldogs, 3-0, Maryland East Shore, 3-2, and CSU Bakersfield, 3-2. Montana State's attack is led by Karli Heidemann, who has posted 76 kills (3.17 per set) to go along with 11 blocks and a team-high 88 points. Elli Tufto follows with 51 kills (2.22 per set) and 11 total blocks, while Camryn Greenwald adds another 47 kills at an impressive .402 hitting percentage, plus 19 blocks for 65 points. Defensively, Lauren Lindseth anchors the back row with 116 digs (4.83 per set) and nine service aces.
>Oregon State: The Beavers posted a pair of wins against UC San Diego (3-0) and Boise State (3-0) in the Boise State Classic. Additionally, Oregon State fell to Arizona in four sets. Oregon State's offense is fueled by Lauren Rumel leads the team with 64 kills (4.00 per set) at a .252 clip. Maeli Cormier is another strong option at the net with 44 kills (2.75 per set) and eight block assists, while Alana Marrs has contributed 38 kills and 16 blocks for 48.5 points. Annika Hester adds balance with 28 kills and 16 total blocks, while Nathalie Scholz has chipped in 10 kills and a team-best 18 blocks, leading the squad in blocking at 1.38 per set.
2025 SCHEDULE: The UNLV volleyball program will play a total of 28 regular-season matches during the 2025 campaign, with 14 of those taking place inside the friendly confines of the Cox Pavilion. The fall slate, the third under head coach Malia Shoji, will feature 18 contests against Mountain West foes as well as 10 more versus nonconference competition.
