COALVILLE, Utah (UNLVRebels.com) – Junior
Ryan Abuan shot a final-round 2-under 69 to finish tied for fifth as the UNLV men's golf team wrapped up play Tuesday at The Wohali Classic hosted by Utah at Wohali Golf Club (par 71, 7,873 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: Abuan tallied a 6-under 207 through 54 holes to go along with a team-high 14 birdies. Adding a top-30 finish alongside his Rebel counterpart, senior
Trevor Lewis (+6) tied for 29th. Also representing the Scarlet & Gray lineup were junior
Zach Little (+9) in a tie for 39th, senior
Wyatt Plattner (+12) in a tie for 48th and junior
Mason Snyder (+18) in a tie for 60th.
As a team, UNLV posted its best round of the two-day event with a 4-under 280 in the final round to move two spots up the standings for a tied-for-seventh finish (+19). All four Rebel scorers shot par or better on the day, including Lewis' and Snyder's 1-under 70 scorecards and Little's even-par 71.
CO-CHAMPIONS: Arizona State and New Mexico came away as team co-champions at 14-under 838 for the tournament. Taking home individual co-medalist honors were ASU's Connor Williams and the Utes' Davis Johnson at 9-under 204.
UP NEXT: The Rebels' fall tournament slate continues with a trip to the Pacific Northwest for The Tindall, being hosted by Washington at Gold Mountain Golf Club from Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 22-23.
