OFF-WEEK NOTES
Undefeated UNLV (4-0/0-0), which continued to receive votes in both the AP and Coaches' polls, enjoys the second of three bye weeks this fall before opening its conference schedule with a rare visit to Wyoming (2-2/0-0) on October 4 ... The Rebels are one of 30 undefeated teams in the FBS and one of just 17 squads with at least four victories ... UNLV just defeated every non-conference opponent on its schedule for the first time since joining a league in 1982 ... Head coach Dan Mullen's team is coming off a 41-38 win at Miami (OH) that marked the program's first victory in 15 all-time trips to the Eastern Time Zone as well as its first on the road vs. a team in the Mid-American Conference ... Mullen is the first UNLV coach to start his career in Las Vegas 4-0 since Tony Knap started 4-0 in 1976 ... With its home win over UCLA on September 6, UNLV posted its fourth win since the beginning of last season against schools from the ACC, Big Ten and Big 12. That's the most wins by any program other than Notre Dame against those three conferences by a non-conference opponent in that time ... In fact, since the start of 2023, the Rebels have earned six wins over teams that were part of P5 leagues at the time of the meeting after having only one such victory in the previous 14 seasons ... UNLV has won six straight road games against non-MW teams, the longest such win streak in MW history ... UNLV is currently tied with Maryland for the most interceptions in the nation with eight and Rebel DB Aamaris Brown leads all of college football with four interceptions (one in all four games) ... UNLV is tied with North Texas for the most overall turnovers gained with 10 and is tied for fourth nationally in turnover margin at plus-six ... UNLV has scored at least 20 points in each of its last 26 regular-season games. That's the second-longest active such streak in the FBS, behind only Memphis (41 straight) ... With a second straight 4-0 start to the campaign (first time since 1973-74), the Rebels improved to 11-2 (85%) since the start of 2023 vs. non-conference opponents during the regular season after going 19-45 (30%) during the previous 17 years since college football moved to a 12-game season in 2006 ... UNLV sophomore PK Ramon Villela was named Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday after hitting the game-winning field goal at Miami. He is the first special teams winner for UNLV this season but the fourth overall weekly winner for the Rebels after just four games in 2025. This also marked the fourth straight season that a UNLV kicker earned at least one MW weekly nod (different kicker each year).
