LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV softball senior Diamond Sefe has been named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Thursday.

Sefe earned the recognition for the first time this season, while it's the softball team's third consecutive honor and fourth of the year.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.

A native of Carson, California, Sefe helped the Rebels to their third straight series sweep, going 3-0 against Boise State. She led UNLV at the plate, batting a combined .636 (7-for-11) which included two home runs, a double, three RBI and five runs scored.

In game one against the Broncos, Sefe went 1-for-2 with a run scored and two walks. During game two, she went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and scored on a wild pitch. In the series finale, Sefe had a career-high four hits, going 4-for-5 (.636) with a home run and two RBI.

Additionally, she owns a five-game hitting streak and has reached base in 12 straight games.
