EL PASO, Texas - UNLV senior Michael Kirk is tied for seventh after the first two rounds of play at the 24-person Savane College All-America Golf Classic played at the par 71, 6,781-yard El Paso County Club Monday.
Kirk shot an opening-round three-over-par 74 and concluded the day with a second-round one-under 70. Clemson's John Engler (69-66-135) leads the field by one shot. He is followed by Georgia Tech's Matt Kuchar (69-67-136) in second place and Kansas' Ryan Vermeer (70-69-139) in third.
UNLV senior Jeremy Anderson (72-79-152), who is the defending champion at the event, is tied for 20th. No other Rebels are competing in the tournament, which concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday.
