Jan. 31, 2001

Questions by Marenna Nyffeler
Answers by Erin Johansson

NAME: Erin Johansson
AGE: 20, but not for long.
HOROSCOPE SIGN: Aquarius
HOMETOWN: Enumclaw, Washington
HOMETOWN KNOWN FOR: The famous pickle factory??????
BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HER HOMETOWN AND VEGAS: The diversity.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST THING TO ADJUST TO IN VEGAS: Probably the diversity. Or wait.
When I was a freshman, I had to share a dorm room with Courtney... that in itself was a big adjustment.
LIVING IN THE SMALL DORM ROOM WITH SOMEONE ELSE, OR HAVING TO LIVE WITH COURTNEY?. Both. (BETWEEN EJ and Courtney I don't know if you would have been able to walk into their room without killing yourself or getting lost).
MAJOR: Criminal Justice
WHEN DID YOU START PLAYING BASKETBALL: In the 7th grade.
PREGAME RITUAL: Nothing really worked for me so I gave up.
BEST ABOUT UNLV: The people that I met.
WORST EXPERIENCE AT UNLV: Probably the day that I locked my keys in my car, not once but Twice! I also left my laptop in the hotel room, and got a flat tire all on the same day, which happened to be in the middle of the summer and about 120 degrees outside.
BEST BASKETBALL MEMORY: Winning the Minnesota tournament.
WHY UNLV?: Why not?

JOHANSSON'S FAVORITES...

  • COLOR: Black/Blue
  • FAVORITE NBA PLAYER: I really don't care for the NBA.
  • MOVIE: Pretty Woman, Finding Forrester
  • ACTRESS: Julia Roberts
  • ACTOR: Tom Hanks
  • MUSIC: Dave Mathews Band, DMX, Jay Z, and Brian McKnight
  • CD: Under The Table and Dreaming by Dave Matthews Band & Flesh of my Flesh by DMX.
  • HOBBY: Reading (it should be SLEEPING, she spends more time asleep than awake).
  • RESTAURANT: Cheesecake Factory
  • FOOD: I really like pineapples and strawberries, but I eat everything. I am a pig... (Ya, right! If you have seen this girl you know that isn't true. I never see her eat much of anything).
  • HOLIDAY: Christmas
  • WHY #24? I used to wear #42 but my friend wanted that one so I just reversed it and stayed with it.
  • OTHER SPORTS YOU PLAYED IN HIGH SCHOOL: Softball, and I ran track for a few days.

TEAM NOTES ON JOHANSSON

Off the court: Her hair is out of control and in a pony tail. We have to beg her to brush it. It might be because she is always just rolling out of bed, and it is a toss up between being late or brushing her hair... Let's just say we never have to run for her being late, we just have to deal with her hair. She always has her cell phone in her hand and is most likely to be talking on it. She can always be found more times than not either talking to, or actually with Bobby, or on her way to Barstow to spend some time with him. If she isn't doing any of those three (which is never) you can sometimes find her driving Constance somewhere or going shopping in Primm. We hardly ever see her eat, which might be why she disappears when she turns sideways.

HOW TO SPOT HER ON OUR TEAM: She is the one that is always sporting a skirt and some styling tall black boots.
MOST LIKELY TO BE SEEN ON THE COURT: Shooting beyond the arc... She holds the school record for the most threes in a game. EJ can also be seen on the court playing tenacious "D" thanks to her extremely long arms.
NICKNAMES: EJ, toothpick, Enumclaw, Erinclaw, Borchardht.
MOST NOTABLE QUOTES: "What is up with your mother?" ,"I have to go pick up Bobby," "I don't know, I just woke up," " I don't know ask your mother." "Not in our pasture."
WHY OR WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PLAY?: I was tall and all my friends played.
THE LONG AWAITED QUESTION... WHO TAUGHT YOU HOW TO SHOOT? I am not sure, but a lot of people have helped me make little adjustments along the way.
HER PERSONAL QUOTES TO LIVE BY: "Never argue with a fool. People might not know the difference." "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." -Martin Luther King
