LAS VEGAS - Sophomore Tania Lee scored one-of-two UNLV women's soccer goals in a 2-2 tie with Dixie College Friday night in an exhibition game held at Peter Johann Memorial Field in Las Vegas.
Lee completed the game-opening goal on an assist from senior Robyn Krivacic at the 27:26 mark to get the Rebels going in the first half. Dixie College would even things up eight minutes later with a score from a defensive goal credited to Sarah Lake. Freshman Jessika Vasquez put UNLV up a notch before halftime, with an unassisted goal at 41:12.
Just minutes before the end of regulation, Dixie College's Jennifer Henry scored in the 88th minute to finalize and deadlock the game at 2-2.
Senior goalkeeper Alice Gleason, a transfer from Santa Clara, posted two saves in 45 minutes of action, while freshman Desiree Kelly took over in the second half with two saves.
The Rebels will next host the UNLV Classic on Friday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 2. UNLV, St. Mary's College, Long Beach State and Washington State make up the four-team tournament field. UNLV duels Long Beach State on Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. and Washington State on Sept. 2 at noon.
