Rams Rally Over Rebel Volleyball

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV volleyball team dropped a tightly played four game match (31-29, 35-37, 26-30, 12-30) to Colorado State on Friday night at the Cox Pavilion. UNLV blocked a season-high 32 balls, but countered by giving up 15 reception errors and 11 service errors.

With the loss, the Rebels fall to 7-16 on the season, 3-7 in Mountain West Conference play. The Rams improve to 16-7, 8-1 in league play.

Blair Wilkes led the Rebel attack with 10 kills and seven block assists. Christina dropped eight kills on the Rams along with a team-high nine blocks, one solo and eight assisted.

Patricia Assuncao tallied 10 digs, seven kills and three service aces in the match, while Leiana Oswald added nine kills and seven digs.

Nicki King and Adriana Franco shared setter duties throughout the match and finished with 23 and 15 assists respectively.

Four Rams finished with double-figure kills, led by Tess Rogers' 16.

UNLV hosts San Diego State next Saturday at 7 p.m.
