LAS VEGAS - The UNLV volleyball team (2-2) suffered a 3-1 loss to the Washington State Cougars (3-1) on Friday evening in the Baden Cougar Challenge in Pullman, Wash. UNLV fell behind 2-0 after two games, but managed to win the third to pull within one. WSU took the fourth for the win. The Cougars won by scores of 30-16, 30-24, 29-31, 30-25. The defeat snapped a two-match winning streak the Rebels carried over from the UNLV Classic.

The Cougars out hit the Rebels .222 to .090 and amassed a 73-to-57 edge in the kill department, as well. UNLV's attack was hindered by low hitting numbers with only the third-game win scoring above the .032 line at .246. UNLV had 12 errors in both the second and fourth games. WSU, on the other hand, nailed a staggering 22 kills in the first game with only three errors for a .463 percentage, while hitting only .154, .167 and .177 in the final three games, respectively.

UNLV got double-doubles from Maria Aladjova and Jessica Walters. Aladjova pitched in 13 kills and a career-high 27 digs. Walters picked up her first-career double-double with 10 kills and 19 digs. Lauren Miramontes and Jennifer Johnson threw down a team-high 15 kills apiece. Melody Nua assisted on 47 Rebel kills, while Jada Walker tied Aladjova for the team-high of 27 digs.

WSU had two notch double-doubles, as well. Kelly Rosin had 13 kills and 14 digs, while Corina Beyer had 60 assists and 18 digs. Adetokunbo Faleti had a match-high 18 kills. Cassie Robbins had the match-high hitting percentage of .406 with her 15 kills, while picking up 10 block assists.

Next up for UNLV is a split doubleheader on Saturday. The Rebels face the UC Davis Aggies at 10 a.m. and follow that up with a 5 p.m. test against the Boise State Broncos.
